ROCHESTER, NY., and WINTER HAVEN, Fla, Kodak and DocuLex, Inc., announce compatibility between KODAK i4000 Series Scanners and DOCULEX ARCHIVE STUDIO Content Management Software. The new integration enables businesses to manage both scanned and electronic-based documents within a secure, web-based repository. Products are available from participating members of Kodak’s Authorized Imaging Reseller Program.

ARCHIVE STUDIO Software helps businesses to access records from almost any remote location with a user interface driven by a standard Web browser. From basic content management to enterprise level process automation, the software’s functions allow users to improve control over document security, workflow, retrieval, collaboration, and retention of indexed information and digital files. Features such as WebSearch help to automatically index collected information into an organized structure.

The digital architecture of the i4000 Series Scanners provides easy integration into ARCHIVE STUDIO Software. The optimized connectivity will help businesses scan information from paper-based records and files quickly and accurately into associated business applications. The scanners’ embedded features, including Kodak’s Smart Touch feature and KODAK Capture Desktop Software, are designed to accelerate document-driven business processes with tools to improve productivity, such as one-touch scanning ease of use and automatic image enhancement.

“The i4000 Series Scanners enable our customers to have an augmented content management system for critical records,” said David Bailey, President, DocuLex, Inc. “Whether these originate from paper or electronically, the KODAK Scanners helps to meet our clients’ unique business needs. Ultimately, integrating the i4000 Series Scanners with ARCHIVE STUDIO provides greater accuracy of data, which can help to increase productivity across an organization.”

DocuLex’s numerous client industries, including banking and finance, insurance, legal, real estate and mortgage, can benefit from an easy transition of paper-based images into its centralized business application.

The many search and retrieval functionalities of ARCHIVE STUDIO Software enable users to perform functions such as specific metadata searches, extensive indexing capabilities, and direct integration with MICROSFOT SHAREPOINT Server. Remote sign-on capabilities via the web eliminate the need for FTP transfers, fax, or experience large email transmissions. These capabilities are complemented by robust capture performance of the i4200 Series and i4600 Series Scanners, which can scan up to 30,000 pages and 50,000 pages per day, respectively.

“Kodak works with solutions providers like DocuLex to help businesses attain long-term, competitive solutions for managing their critical records,” said Brian Bagan, Director, Business Development, United States and Canada, Document Imaging, Kodak’s Business Solutions and Services Group. “The i4000 Series Scanners paired with DocuLex’s ARCHIVE STUDIO Software can offer production-level quality capture that’s easily imported into a browser-based system. This provides companies with a greater opportunity to increase efficiency across their business.”
